Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) and Chevron Australia are proud to announce the launch of the Chevron Nature in Focus Photography Competition

This competition takes over the reins of the Chevron Focus Environment Photography Competition, which has been inspiring school-aged kids in Western Australia to celebrate their natural environment for over 18 years!

However, the Chevron Nature in Focus Photography Competition is a little different.

This competition is open to EVERYONE, with categories for both adults and juniors to show off their amazing photography skills while showcasing our country’s beautiful biodiversity.

Age Groups:

  • K – Year 2: using any camera.

  • Year 3 – Year 6: using any camera.

  • High School (Years 7 –12): for those under 18 years of age and using an SLR or smart phone.

  • Adult Smartphone: for those 18 years old and over and using a smartphone.

  • Adult Professional: for those 18 years old and over and using an SLR or professional camera.

WHAT

We're searching for photos under three different thematic categories:

Oceans, Wetlands and Rivers: Dive into the diverse ecosystems of Australia’s aquatic wonderlands through this category dedicated to oceans, wetlands, and rivers. From the depths of the oceans teeming with marine life to the tranquil beauty of wetlands and the meandering flow of rivers, this category celebrates the vital role these environments play in our world.

Sustainability:  In an era where Nature Stewardship is crucial for the health of people and the planet, the Sustainability category invites photographers to explore and capture the essence of sustainable living, practices, and innovations. This category celebrates human efforts in striving for a balance with nature that ensures the well-being of our planet for future generations.

Species and Habitats: Celebrate the remarkable diversity of life on Earth through the Species and Habitats category, which invites photographers to explore and capture the beauty, uniqueness, and importance of Australian native species and their habitats.

*More Information on categories, prizes and terms & conditions: Visit the CVA competition page here which has helpful descriptions of the kind of photography we're looking for in each category.
